New Analysis of the ∆ I = 1 / 2 Rule in Kaon Decays and the B̂ K Parameter

چکیده
We present a new analysis of the ∆I = 1/2 rule in K → ππ decays and the B̂K parameter. We use the 1/Nc expansion within the effective chiral lagrangian for pseudoscalar mesons and compute the hadronic matrix elements at leading and nextto-leading order in the chiral and the 1/Nc expansions. Numerically, our calculation reproduces the dominant ∆I = 1/2 K → ππ amplitude. Our result depends only moderately on the choice of the cutoff scale in the chiral loops. The ∆I = 3/2 amplitude emerges sufficiently suppressed but shows a significant dependence on the cutoff. The B̂K parameter turns out to be smaller than the value previously obtained in the 1/Nc approach. It also shows a significant dependence on the choice of the cutoff scale. Our results indicate that corrections from higher order terms and/or higher resonances are large for the ∆I = 3/2 K → ππ amplitude and the (|∆S| = 2) K0 − K̄0 transition amplitude. Radiative Kaon Decays and the Penguin Contribution to the ∆i = 1/2 Rule
A consistent census of penguins in the ∆I = 1/2 rule is taken from the η0 pole contribution to the radiative KL → γγ, KS → π0γγ and K+ → π+γγ decay modes. We briefly comment on its impact for KL → π0π0γγ, KL → π+π−γ and check its compatibility with the KL−KS mass difference and the CP violating ε′/ε parameter.

We present a lattice calculation of the K → π and K → 0 matrix elements of the ∆S = 1 effective weak Hamiltonian which can be used to determine ǫ′/ǫ and the ∆I = 1/2 rule for K decays in the Standard Model. The matrix elements for K → ππ decays are related to K → π and K → 0 using lowest order chiral perturbation theory. We also present results for the kaon B parameter, BK . Our quenched domain...

We discuss a new estimate of ε/ε in the kaon system. The present approach is based on the evaluation of the hadronic matrix elements of the ∆S = 1 effective quark lagrangian by means of the chiral quark model, with the inclusion of meson one-loop renormalization and NLO Wilson coefficients. The estimate here reviewed is fully consistent with the ∆I = 1/2 selection rule in K → ππ decays, which i...
متن کامل1 A New Prediction for Direct CP Violation ε ′ / ε and ∆ I = 1 / 2 Rule
The low energy dynamics of QCD is investigated with special attention paid to the matching between QCD and chiral perturbation theory(ChPT), and also to some useful algebraic chiral operator relations which survive even when we include chiral loop corrections. It then allows us to evaluate the hadronic matrix elements below the energy scale Λ χ ≃ 1 GeV. Based on the new analyzes, we present a c...

We discuss the application of the MPSTV non-perturbative method [1] to the operators relevant to kaon decays. This enables us to reappraise the long-standing question of the ∆I = 1/2 rule, which involves power-divergent subtractions that cannot be evaluated in perturbation theory. We also study the mixing with dimension-six operators and discuss its implications to the chiral behaviour of the B...
